Moon Tower Goes Country

And Sam Bentley Brought It

Let’s Dance was on hand at the Moon Tower the other night to catch The Sam Bentley Band and got a bonus. Sam usually brings his own crowd; a faithful following of dancers but this night other musicians stopped in to support ‘country’ at The Moontower Saloon. Let’s Dance was able to get some great videos with a smorgasbord of classic songs. Sam got it started with The Darker The Night, The Better I See. Then Jerry Don Motley gets into gear with The Wildwood Flower and then John Russell takes over with The Steel Guitar Rag.

Then the traveling troubadours began to trickle in. First up the the ever gracious and lovely Paula Russel steps up on the stage and sings the Patsy Cline favorite, Walking After Midnight. Next, the smoothest voice in country, Mr Ken Simpson sings Truck Driving Man.

Later I was surprised to see the audacious Lost John Casner, a gent I haven’t had the pleasure to see in a long while. John lit the fire with Miles And Miles Of Texas.

This night ended way too soon for me. I wanted more. An Empty Glass was exactly how I felt. I can’t wait to hear him…uh them again. if you want to catch The Sam Bentley Band, they are booked at the 290 West Club on July 11. Don’t miss it!
